Mark my words. The Texas Hill Country is dying a slow, painful death. Just last week I sat in a city council meeting listening to two sides argue the annexation of large parcels of land at the edge of Boerne. On this particular issue I can certainly see both sides. But it doesn't take a genius to see that regardless of the vote this time, massive development will test the region's water and other resources during the next ten years. And at some point the Hill Country loses its attraction. It just has to. Glad I'm here to enjoy it while there's still something to enjoy.
